Garden Adventures

The Garden Adventures program is a 6-session offering for children aged 4-13, taking place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for two weeks in July or August. Children will have the chance to learn about garden creatures, such as worms, pollinators, fungi, and more, while taking home fresh vegetables they’ve grown themselves.
Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program (BCAP)
The Brooklyn Cultural Adventures Program (BCAP) is a 2-week day camp designed for children aged 7-12. This collaborative program, involving six cultural institutions in Brooklyn, including the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, offers a unique blend of hands-on experiences that connect art, world culture, literature, history, nature, technology, and science. Participants will embark on a journey of discovery, exploring the rich cultural diversity of Brooklyn through engaging and interactive activities.
Age Range and Cost
The Garden Adventures program caters to children aged 4-13, with a cost of $425 for non-members and $400 for members, plus a 4.5% registration fee. The BCAP program is designed for children aged 7-12, and financial aid is available on a sliding scale for 50% of the seats.
Timings and Dates
The Garden Adventures sessions are held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with dates for 2024 including July 10-19, July 24-August 2, and August 7-16. The BCAP program takes place in July, with specific dates being July 1-12, July 15-26, and July 29-August 9, with no camp on July 4th.
Additional Information
For the Garden Adventures program, drop-off and pickup are at the Children’s Garden gate, and participants must show their class confirmation email to enter the Garden. All lunches and snacks are eaten picnic-style outdoors and must be nut-free. Children should wear clothing that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes, and hand-washing stations are available throughout the garden.
